Happy New Year everybody! My new years resolution is simple-to find a job. I also vow to get more exercise and eat healthier.I wish everybody a safe and happy new year:)

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everyone has a nice meal and somebody to share it with! I have much to be thankful for.I plan on making the meal at my house this year for a change. My little granddaughter told me today that the pilgrims and Indians shared a feast of cheese and dried beans:)I plan on serving a bit more than that.

Great American Smokeout

Today is the day in which smokers are encouraged to quit. This is the 36th annual smokeout. I quit smoking 2 years, 7 months ago and I've never regretted it. Now if I could just encourage my mom, sisters, and sons to quit! Veteran's Day

On Veterans Day we honor all,
Who answered to a service call.
Soldiers young, and soldiers old,
Fought for freedom, brave and bold.
Some have lived, while others died,
And all of them deserve our pride.
We’re proud of all the soldiers who,
Kept thinking of red, white and blue.
They fought for us and all our rights,
They fought through many days and nights.
And though we may not know each name,
We thank ALL veterans just the same.

Fall Back

It's time to set your clocks back again. For some reason this always confuses me. It's also a good idea to replace the battery in your smoke alarm and stock up on cold medicine.

It's That Time of Year

We had a bad scare this week with my mom being hospitalized. She got sick and then couldn't breathe. She has some sort of bronchitis that she can't seem to shake. She is a little better now and is home, but on oxygen. She gets out of breath just standing. I stayed a week with her to help, but now I'm sick! I feel bad because I can't help her, but it feels good to be home.

Happy Labor Day

Happy Labor Day everybody! Labor Day is kind of sad for me because it signifies the end of summer. Summer went by much too fast this year. Here in Oregon we didn't get any sunshine until the middle of July! Speaking of labor; my boyfriend has two beautiful new nephews-Tyler and Christopher. They were born a couple of days too early to be true labor day babies.

It's National Nude Day!

July 14th is National Nude Day! I was planning on celebrating by walking around my neighborhood naked (which, by the way, is totally legal in Oregon), but as usual the weather stinks! It's just too darn cold to be naked. Maybe next year!
