It's official. I am a non-smoker! I quit a year ago today. I am so much happier and healthier though 5 pounds heavier. I still have occasional cravings, but they don't last long. I can really credit Allen Carr's book "The Easy Way to Stop Smoking". It wasn't easy, but his book was very motivating. The quit smoking meter I have states I have saved $1461.00 and haven't smoked 7307 cigarettes based on a pack a day-though sometimes I smoked more than that. Oh, who am I kidding, I usually smoked more than that. With the money I have saved I am getting some much needed dental work. I know it's a boring reward, but one I really want.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! That is such a huge deal. And so empowering, don't you think?? Good for you. Get all the dental work you want!
Congratulations! What an accomplishment! You have a lot to be proud of.
Congrats!! That's an amazing accomplishment!!! :)
Congratualtions! (I spelled that wrong and I'm not changing it!) I'm so happy for you. :)
Marvelous accomplishment! Though it must have been difficult to do the rewards make it all worth while. May the dental work give you a lovely smile that will remind you each and every day of your victory. :)
Wow! Congratulations!
I quit when the ball dropped in NY. I fell off the wagon though yesterday but I climbed right back on.

Welcome to the club!!! Just over 3 years for myself. Wow - I never thought to add up how many individual smokes I would have consumed - that is disgusting when put that way. I still have cravings pop into my brain randomly but they last about 2 seconds and then I laugh - stubborn nasty habit can try all it wants. I'm so over it.
That is fantastic. I quit for 3 years once and started thinking I could have one once in a while, which did work for a couple years. Sadly I took it up again. Never ever think you can have one now and then that demon bites you right in the backside!!
That's one heck of an achievement. Well done!
This is my first visit to your blog & I just want to say CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
I quit 3 yaers ago after 10 years and I'm so happy that cigarettes are no longer a part of my life.
I'm very happy for you, keep up the good work.
"It's official. I am a non-smoker!"
I haven't "snuck" one in 8 years next November. Don't even miss it even though it took many years of trying to get to that point. Congrats - stay with it. Those cravings will appear less and less.
congratulations!!!
thats fantastic:)
Congratulations! :) That's awesome!
My husband died of lung cancer in 1997. I begged him on actual bended knee with tears pouring down my face, to stop. He couldn't. He tried. Hard.
I am beyond delighted that you have been able to lay them down. Now, just one last thing and then I will say goodnight. Please, if you are ever in a place where they have an open box of cigarettes and you can buy ONLY one, please don't! After quitting for seven years, Patrick bought just one cigarette and died a couple of years later. I wanted to grow old with him.
Hugs!
Mona
p.s. What I meant to say is that he bought the one cigarette and it started him smoking again...and this time it killed him.
That is wonderful! That would be like me right now losing the 25 pounds I have gained in the past 10 years. I don't know how it got there, but it did and I can't even imagine how I will lose it! Good for you! Stay strong!
I saw that you were following me. I read your profile and thought, "OMG! Is she my long-lost sister or what?!?!" - I know, I also have an unhealthy addiction to "Snapped", "The First 48", and "The Forensic Files". Unlike you, however, I have NOT been able to kick this horrid habit. I think I'm going to have to buy this book.
Wow-congrats!! This is a huge accomplishment!!!!!
